05 / Development roadmap

Let evidence
earn the next step.

No invented launch date. Each stage must become useful on its own, pass a clear test and justify the complexity of the next.

GATE 01

One paying job

Interview nearby budget holders using invoices, seasonal crop demand, loss and labor records. Compare delivered produce, an ordinary greenhouse and established modular systems.

Evidence to proceed

One crop basket, one service region, a costed configuration, a real budget owner and a paid experimental scope.

Narrow or stop when

Demand exists only with publicity or subsidy; no budget owner; full installed and supported cost defeats the use.

GATE 02

One complete workflow

Build Core + Grow + Climate + Care in a qualified enclosure with known utilities. Freeze thresholds before the trial.

Evidence to proceed

Proposed trial: at least three complete crop cycles and a separate 30-day record of all local/remote work, quality, loss, inputs and support.

Narrow or stop when

Cleaning, remote labor or rejects are omitted; quality is inconsistent; the buyer does not accept the result.

GATE 03

A serviceable cell

Inject defined faults. Test branch isolation, local degraded operation and manual recovery before autonomy.

Evidence to proceed

An independent technician completes diagnosis, isolation, exchange and recommissioning with measured effort.

Narrow or stop when

Routine recovery depends on founders; the shared spine spreads a fault; incorrect replacement can be silently accepted.

GATE 04

Repeatable installations

Install the same bounded configuration at a proposed target of three independent sites. Include seasonal exposure and support travel.

Evidence to proceed

Paid acceptance, repeatable commissioning, useful shared BOM, service contribution and a credible warranty reserve.

Narrow or stop when

Each sale needs bespoke engineering; field support destroys contribution; catalog variants outrun common value.

GATE 05

Adjacent useful systems

Add a crop, water source, regional climate package, workshop or habitation function one at a time.

Evidence to proceed

New qualification, competent local review, service coverage and evidence that the old parts remain useful.

Narrow or stop when

Expansion harms reliability, affordability, accessibility or repairability.

GATE 06

Frontier partnerships

Pursue selected polar, deployable or space subsystems with funded research and mission partners.

Evidence to proceed

A defined need, separate budget, component qualification and mission-specific acceptance.

Narrow or stop when

A speculative all-in-one habitat becomes a prerequisite for the terrestrial business.

05.7 / The first 90 days

Build a bench.
Learn from a buyer.

A proposed sequence, not a commitment that the product is available in ninety days.

WEEKS 01–03

Understand the job

Observe a kitchen or grower, inspect actual demand and paid work, confirm the source water, utility prices and qualified space.

WEEKS 04–06

Fix the boundaries

Select one crop, map clean/dirty work, obtain component quotes, define the first interface family and pre-agree acceptance.

WEEKS 07–12

Prove the integration

Demonstrate metering, one repeatable handling task and one safe service exchange. Price the pilot with explicit support and failure reserves.

A bold idea deserves
a hard question.
