See the trade-offs.
Change the assumptions.

Three separate sensitivity models make resource and cost boundaries visible. These are hypothetical examples—not a configurator, quote or engineering design.

ILLUSTRATIVE MODEL / WATER

All values are editable assumptions. No data leaves your browser.

Do not combine these into a validated habitat budget. The examples have different boundaries and canopy areas. None includes a site-specific engineering model. Lighting is not total electricity; produce is not a complete diet; recycled volume is not proof of safe water.

08.1 / Equations, not magic

Make the denominator visible.

Water

Domestic makeup = people × demand × (1 − collection × yield)
Crop makeup = canopy × transpiration × (1 − condensate) + other losses

Domestic and crop loops are separate. Assumes treatment is suitable; calculates volume, not quality. Crop condensate is not counted again as new supply.

Lighting & reserve

Light kWh/day = area × daily light ÷ efficacy ÷ 3.6
PV kWp = lighting ÷ (solar hours × net yield)
Storage kWh = lighting × days ÷ (usable × efficiency)

Lighting-only average arithmetic. HVAC, pumps and living loads are additional. Not chronological off-grid sizing; zero-sun intervals require separate analysis.

Economics

CRF = r(1+r)ⁿ ÷ ((1+r)ⁿ − 1)
Capital charge = capital × CRF
Cost/kg = annual modeled cost ÷ saleable output

At r = 0, capital is divided by years. Excludes land, distribution, packaging, tax, sales, overhead, profit and unmodeled risks. No Anyground price is offered.
